Notice of Resignation *New*

From Board of Directors, Amber-RTM:

It is with a mix of sadness and gratitude that the Board of Directors announces Danny Thorn’s departure as Commercial Director of Amber-RTM, effective January 20, 2017. Since 2015, Danny has played a significant role in the development and success of the organization, and while we will miss him and his commercial leadership, we wish him the best of luck in his new endeavours. We want to thank him for the 2 years of dedicated service which involved many significant accomplishments including building a strong client base, a solid business structure and the ability to deliver a breadth of traffic management services.

Over the next few months, we will be conducting a search to find the new Amber-RTM Commercial Director. During this transition period, it is our priority to find the best individual to help Amber-RTM maintain a consistent trajectory of growth whilst delivering a high quality service to our clients. We will share the job announcement soon and ask for your help in identifying candidates who can help Amber-RTM continue along this successful trajectory. In the interim, our Operations Director Ty Rawbone will also manage and oversee the commercial team, until a replacement is found. We are also pleased to announce the immediate appointment of Ben Cotton, formerly of Toppesfield Road Surfacing. Ben joins the team as Technical Manager bringing extensive industry experience, strengthening the provision of a quality service to our clients. We are confident that the new team enables us deliver a more holistic service to our clients.

Again, we cannot thank Danny enough for the dedication, passion, enthusiasm and motivation he has given Amber-RTM over the past 2 years. He will be greatly missed by the staff, Board, customers and suppliers alike. We look forward to following the success of his career and are hopeful and excited for the next chapter of Amber-RTM as we continue to support our customers in their Traffic Management requirements. If you have any questions or concerns during this transition process, please do not hesitate to reach out to us directly at news@amber-rtm.co.uk

Sincerely,

Board of Directors, Amber-RTM

Surrey County Council Resurfacing & Civil Schemes *New*

Amber-RTM has been designing and delivering temporary traffic management, working on behalf of Tarmac, on the Surrey Resurfacing contract since April 2015. The nature of the contract requires early involvement and stakeholder engagement in schemes, agreeing design and implementation that meets the need of the contract, maximises productivity whilst aiming for minimal disruption to both road users and pedestrians.                                             .
Keeping the public informed of pending works is critical through early placement of both Variable Message Signs and scheme specific static advance signs; all supplied by Amber-RTM, helping to reduce complaints and encourage traffic away from the site when works start.

Amber-RTM have been able to use a number of innovative safety measures in relation to road closure points providing access to the working area. TM Operative body CCTV camera’s, supported by signage agreed by both Surrey County Council and the Police, along with a double gated closure point system which removes operatives from the carriageway edge, have drastically reduced abuse and traffic stopping at closure points. The double gate system also provides greater control of site traffic and pedestrians looking to gain approved access; it allows them to enter a ‘bubble’ between two sets of barrier, be checked and then released and, if required, escorted through the site.

The resurfacing schemes are wide and varied in nature, from low volume traffic on rural roads to high volume high speed carriageways.
One recent was the A22 Godstone by-pass, just off the M25 J6. This went from a £500k drainage and surfacing scheme, to a £3.5m full carriageway re-construction involving a full shut down of one carriageway at a time with diversion and various off-peak lane closures. The additional requirements were designed and expertly implemented by Amber-RTM within very short time frames after the contract started and the severity of water damage under the carriageway realised.  Tarmac called an emergency meeting where Amber-RTM proposed various traffic management options to expedite works and provide maximum safety, working closely with Tarmac and The Client.

Amber-RTM are pleased to be delivering works working with Tarmac on both the Surrey County Council resurfacing and civil schemes for 2016.
